The Presbytery purchased 12 acres from International Paper Realty in 1998 to begin a new work in Carolina Forest.
In March 2001, The Presbytery called Olin McBride to be the New Church Developer. The first worship service was held on July 2001 in the Big Deal on Highway 501 behind Dick’s Pawn Shop.
Groundbreaking was held in November 2001. The building was first occupied in June 2002 and on September 22, 2002, the church was chartered as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church USA. Rev. McBride resigned on July 31, 2003 to pastor a church in Mississippi.
Rev. Thom Giuntoli, a newly retired Navy Chaplain served as our Interim Pastor until January 2005.
Rev. Gary Lowe served as our pastor from February 20, 2005 until his resignation effective July 31, 2010.
Dr. Thomas G. Dendy, began his ministry as our pastor on November 1, 2011.
